Painting Wargaming Miniatures with Matt Beauchamp
« on: February 16, 2010, 07:03:41 pm »
Michigan Toy Soldier Co. is hosting a miniatures painting seminar featuring Matt Beauchamp of Hydra Miniatures on Saturday, February 27th from 1-3 PM.

Learn the techniques of painting wargame miniatures.  Basic and advance painting methods will be covered.

Matt Beauchamp is a veteran painter and has been collecting 25/28mm wargaming miniatures for over 30 years.  He's won numerous painting competitions, including Best of Show at Gen Con 1997.  In recent years, Matt began sculpting miniatures for various companies before starting his won company Hydra Miniatures in 2007.  When he isn't running Hydra Miniatures, he still finds some time to paint a few miniatures, mainly ancients, World War I, and pulp adventure and old school fantasy figures from the '70s and 80s.

Yeah, I sat a seminar with Beauchamp like 15-16 years ago at Alcove.
I learned a lot then, now I hope to pick his brain a bit for blending, etc.

Matt and i were there. It wasnt bad at all. It was more of a beginners course though. He did a bunch of question/answer, which was cool, and I am going to see if i can use the technique he mentioned when painting black.

They also filmed it for posting on YouTube, so you can go there and see it when they bring it up.
